Video – Lucha Libre Mexican Wrestling at ¡VAMOS!
On Friday a team of masked Mexican wrestlers took to Newcastle’s Star and Shadow Cinema and Retreat venue to perform at the Lucha Libre event – arguably the hottest ticket at this year’s ¡VAMOS! festival.
For one night only a cultural institution in working class Mexico was transformed into a largely middle class spectacle with a series of theatrical performances from El Skeletor and Senor Portugale.
Although the comedic display isn’t likely to go down in wrestling legend, the event nevertheless offered some fun respite from the usual weekend routine. Here’s the evidence…
