Discos, Documentaries and New Directions – Live Theatre Season Preview

By Adam Clery on January 18, 2012 in Stage

The Live Theatre, the second best spot to observe some drama on the Quayside (the first best being outside The Cooperage at 3am) has a brand new season that’s about to kick off. Brimming over with new ideas, the good, the great, and the gits of the North East press were invited down to hear about all the plays, projects and partnerships that have are on the horizon for the next few months.

Taking to the floor was Live Theatre’s Literary Manager Gez Casey, as well as teaser performances from Donna Disco’s Paula Penman and The Tin Ring’s Jane Arnfield, who talked us through the hows and the whys of the venue’s early 2012 programme. Being the closet thespians we are, we nabbed as many bodies as we could for a quick chat about what’s going to be on offer, as well as the theatre’s role in helping shape the plays and the playwrights of tomorrow.

For full listings you can check out the Live Theatre’s events page.
