Exclusive: B>E>A>K – Keharr Video
By Stephen Noble on April 23, 2012 in Music
“I guess being out in general public dressed as a brightly colour-coordinated bird is going to attract some attention. When we were filming in Boldon a young lad approached us and asked why our mate (The White Swan) was dressed as a giant white chicken.
“The whole chicken thing seemed to be a developing theme with chicken sounds hurled our way on a number of occasions.”
Do you see the effort B>E>A>K have put into this? Taunting, school-yard bullying and a ridiculous shooting schedule, sometimes starting at 6am.This exclusive showing of B>E>A>K’s latest video, for The White Edition, is nicely timed with their Record Store day limited release.
Before the download is available, on the 27 of April, there’s a tiny run of 50 cds available from RPM in Newcastle and Hot Rats in Sunderland, as The Green Gannet squawks.
“We’re all big fans of buying/collecting records and really value independently run record shops. I think record store day is a great idea and really helps promote and raise the profile of these smaller record shops that are sometimes overlooked. With our release being completed around the same time as Record Store day we thought it we would kill two birds with one stone and release a limited amount of CDs before the official release a week later.”
“With our previous release in our “The Life of Birds” series we have made them all free digital downloads via our bandcamp and never really put much emphasis on the physical side of the release. I think it is hard to get away from the fact that we are primarily a live band just for how much goes into the shows.
“However, with each release of the editions we want to try and capture some of that energy onto physical records. After this we will look to release the Blue Edition and for the first time we are going to start experimenting with vocals.”
