Preview: The Cluny Arts & Crafts Market
Usually, we’d associate The Cluny with ear shattering rock gigs, warm gentle folk gigs and more Old Rosie cider than is recommended by doctors but now those lovely folk are gearing up for an arts and crafts market, the crafty buggers (see what we did there? Yeah, sorry about that).
The Cluny arts & crafts market will be running on Sunday June 10th and promises to feature all the trinkets and shiny things you can shake a magpie at.
Cluny bigwig and friend of KYEO, Thomas Bagnall shed more light on the history of the market: “This is the 4th market we have run ourselves and each one has been better than the last. We’ve got a great selection of stalls which are listed on our site and the atmosphere is always really good, so it’s a great event to come to, even if you just want to window shop”
If you do get yourself down to Ouseburn valley for the market you can expect to find a series of ink drawings by Heaton based artist Ben Holland, unique silver jewellery from Sarah Laquiz, handmade accessories and home ware (including, we’re told, heart and house warming one of a kind pieces such as cake stands made from re-purposed vintage crockery) by Frances Abigail, and Hayley Clark’s lock and key themed, Through The Keyhole necklace range.
There will of course be loads more on the day and we’re pretty certain it’ll all be lovely. Seriously, with all the love and time that’s gone into these items, how could you not want to go for a look around?

I’m very fortunate to have one of the Cluny prints by Ben Holland. It’s wonderfully beautiful. His others are equally brilliant.
