PREVIEW: Film Night @ Independent

As most of us know now, Independent is, sadly, due to be demolished soon. Before then, however, it’s playing host to an array of excellent events and this next one, Tuesday July 10th, is no exception.
Independent Film Night will showcase three films by directors who are currently making waves in the industry: Bronson by Nicolas Winding Refn; Irreversible by Gaspar Noe and Buffalo 66 by Vincent Gallo.
The night has been organised in order to raise enough money to fund the completion of local short film The Sanctuary and a door charge of £2.50 will help to cover this, along with collection buckets around the venue. Hot and cold snacks are available as well as drinks offers.
This is an excellent chance for film-lovers to see three alternative, artistic pictures on the big screen that anyone who frequents Independent will have shadow-danced in front of, as well as helping some north eastern filmmakers achieve a dream. Film times are as follows:
