PREVIEW: Warm Digits
If you fancy a gig experience that’s out-of-this-world this summer, then look no further. On Saturday 11th August, everyone’s favourite krautophonic blizzard-wave duo Warm Digits will perform in front of giant video art installation Mariner 9 in Whitley Bay.
Commissioned by the Tyneside Cinema and created by internationally acclaimed artist Kelly Richardson, Mariner 9 is a breathtaking 12-metre long panorama of Mars set 200 years in the future, and will be exhibited inside Whitley Bay’s historic Spanish City Dome. Musicians Andrew Hodson and Steve Jefferis will bring their frantic experimental sound to the Dome, with an intergalactic improvised performance in response to Mariner 9. The Digits will be creating their otherworldly sounds in front of the installation itself, making this a unique assault on the senses that is not to be missed.
Warm Digits perform in front of Mariner 9 at Spanish City Dome, Whitley Bay on Saturday 11th August. Mariner 9 runs from Friday 3rd to Sunday 19th August.
