PREVIEW: Deerhart
It’s a known fact that good things to come to those who wait, and here at NARC. we’re all for delayed gratification. It’s been absolutely ages since the swoonsome tones of Trev Gibb and co. have graced our region, and their forthcoming gig at The Cluny 2 in Newcastle on Wednesday 15th August promises to be a special event.
Trev Gibb’s songwriting really shines in the live arena, and the band are utterly beguiling to watch, effortlessly tripping out luscious songscapes and charming melodies. Deerhart are supported on the night by relative newcomers The Lindsay Tin, comprised of Paul Jeans (ex-Jeans goes POP!) and Paul Christian Pattison (d_rradio/Dark Sky Singers), their dark experimental folk is gaining quite a reputation; the haunting atmospheric sounds of Crooked Hands and the brand new solo project from ex-Blackflower frontman Paul Fletcher also ably assist.
Add to all this a d_rradio DJ set and live visuals amid the intimate surrounds of The Cluny 2, and you’ve got a night made in aural heaven.
Deerhart, The Lindsay Tin, Crooked Hands and Paul Fletcher play The Cluny 2, Newcastle on Wednesday 15th August.
