PREVIEW: Jacuzzi Boys

By Linsey Teggert on August 13, 2012 in Music, NARC.

Leaving the sunny climes of South Florida for the not-so-sunny climes of the UK, Miami garage rock three-piece Jacuzzi Boys drop by The Cluny 2, Newcastle on Thursday 16th August thanks to promoters Banana Hill and Splash One.

The 60’s-indebted rockers infuse their lo-fi garage with poppy psychedelia, adding a sense of glam to their fuzzy nostalgia. Their 2011 LP Glazin’ is the musical equivalent of an injection of Miami sun straight into your veins, and if you need any more convincing, Iggy Pop is a fan of these dudes.

Support comes from Stonehaven two-piece noise poppers Dolfinz who have toured the UK with the likes of Cults, DZ Deathrays and Sic Alps despite only starting out in August 2011. Rounding up the bill is Richmond’s boy wonder Fantasy Rainbow whose bittersweet surf-pop has been making waves since the release of the Teens EP on local record label Tiny Lights last summer.

Jacuzzi Boys, Dolfinz and Fantasy Rainbow play The Cluny 2, Newcastle on Thursday 16th August.
