PREVIEW: Matchbox Cabaret

The August Bank Holiday weekend sees the launch of a new weekly season of music, cracking comedy, film, spoken word and all variety of cutting edge cabaret in the intimate setting of Eaglescliffe’s award winning vegetarian restaurant, The Waiting Room.

Taking place every Sunday, highlights include the screening of the Sound It Out Records documentary (Sunday 2nd September); a literature and music combo featuring Apples author Richard Millward coupled with New York troubadour Thomas Truax (Sunday 9th September); The magnificent musical excess of Misty’s Big Adventure (Sunday 30th September) and comedienne extraordinaire Josie Long (Sunday 25th November).

It’s all launched by a very special event on Bank Holiday Monday 27th August with a mini-festival featuring Jeffrey Lewis & The Junkyard and Jane Bombane.
