PREVIEW: Shindig

Newcastle’s Shindig is well-known for putting on some of Newcastle’s best electronic (but especially house) club nights. After a short summer break, they make their return on the August Bank Holiday weekend, shunning a commercial club set-up for the dusty confines of Warehouse 34 in Hoults Yard for an old-skool house vibe.

On Sunday 26^th August the Moon Harbour boss man and long-time Circo Loco staple Matthias Tanzmann teams up with Italian DJ and This And That Lab founder David Squillace, who Shindig fans might remember after a barnstorming W34 performance last year. Tanzmann has a reputation for being a personable and enthusiastic DJ, so if you’re looking for a special, one-off event to celebrate your Bank Holiday, you could definitely do a lot worse.

As if that wasn’t enough to get excited about, Shindig have also announced an overdue return of House Gangster DJ Sneak this October, easily matching the high standards set for themselves by the August event. If there was ever any doubt about Shindig’s status as Newcastle’s premier electronic club night, then these two W34s should swiftly banish it.
