The Edinburgh Fringe Review Show – Part 1
By Adam Clery on September 5, 2012 in Stage
So, a little while ago now, I intrepidly set off North of the border to really take in the sights, sounds, soups and sauce of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. You may remember us popping up last year and chatting to as many NE acts as we could possibly get our hands on, that was all well and good, but it meant we couldn’t actually tell you if they were any good or not.
This year though, I managed to find a few days between upsetting bands and getting yelled at by PR types to check out absolutely anybody who was willing to toss a comp my way. 12 acts comprising countless performers obliged me and encompassed stand up comedy, interpretative street dancing, improvisation, verbatim theatre and even some psychological misdirection. Interspersed with the odd beer.
Anyway, there’s far too much stuff to condense this all into a written article (I’m not writing a masters here) and even trying to tell you all through the medium of video would have been too long for one sitting, so here’s part 1 of my Fringe review…
If you’d like to check any of these acts out, visit them here. Part 2 tickle your fancy?.
