PREVIEW: Mr Ben Sir @ The Mining Institute

By Stephen Noble on September 13, 2012 in Music

Mr Ben Sir release a new EP entitled Portraits this month. Carrying on the folky American style, Mr Ben Sir – describing themselves as a North East recording collective, are helmed by Ben Charlesworth. The three track EP takes an ambient feel, with Ben’s soft vocals nestling into slow and steady, layered music.

Mr Ben Sir rarely plays gigs – the full collective are dotted around a few continents which would make it a bit tricky – but you can see a solo show when Ben supports Withered Hand at Newcastle’s Mining Institute on Monday 24th September, with the EP being released through Calico Print a week before on the 17 and available through Bandcamp for an entire £2.
