VIDEO: Split Parade
By Adam Clery on September 20, 2012 in Music
Well, there’s not long left now. In but a few short days, Split Festival will rear its beautiful head over Sunderland for yet another year of musical mastery and festive frivolity. But, as is tradition in these parts now, that meant that weekend past, Split Parade offered itself up as the figurative lighting of the torch.
In a video which was filmed early enough in the night to ensure everyone’s dignity remained in tact, we chat to Rob Deverson (Split Festival organiser) and Emma Howe (the brains behind the parade) to find out precisely what a large group of men in bird masks was doing marching up Holmeside with drums. Keep it tuned to KYEO for extensive* coverage this weekend.
