PREVIEW: Mush @ Ernest

By Claire Dupree on October 2, 2012 in Music

Long-term collaborators Nicky Rushton and Sarah Van Jellie present a collection of heartfelt songs, as the girls explain: “A little like the title, this album has taken a delicate turn, introducing songs about life, love, dementia and murder. These are autobiographical songs from the heart.”

The expressive vocals are backed by lush piano and guitar melodies and joined by a variety of adornments such as pretty strings on Ladybird and bleeping synths on Smile.

Mush’s longevity is a testament to their talents, with superb songwriting and inventive arrangements, each release is a different take on the girls’ skills. They officially release the album at Ernest in Ouseburn Valley on Thursday 4 October.

Mush release Delicatessen on Thursday 4 October with a launch event at Ernest, Newcastle.
